One Year Anniversary - My Blog Turns 1!

It’s been one year since I created The Disney Classics! I originally started on thedisneyclassics.home.blog on May 27th, 2019, but moved over to this site in January 2020. I started this blog in hopes of sharing my love, passion, and knowledge for one of my favourite companies in the world and I think I’ve achieved that.

Why Did I Start?

The initial reason for me starting a blog was because I was approaching a summer where I was only working and not going to school at the same time, so I thought that I would have a lot of time on my hands. I’ve always loved writing and knew I’d start a blog someday, just couldn’t think of what I would talk about.

What Post Am I Most Proud Of?

This one is tough to answer, because I’ve invested so much time into a lot of these posts, including doing so much research for them, so I’m proud of a lot of them. I would have to say I’m really happy with how my attempt at the Pixar theory post came out as it did really well, I was happy with my Walt Disney - History series because I learned so much about Walt during my visit to the Walt Disney Family Museum. I love my Disney Legends series as well, with my two favourite men, Dick Van Dyke and Bobby Driscoll!

Where Do I Want My Blog To Go From Here?

From here, I would like to continue making content that makes ME excited. Although it’s important to cater to your audience, I made this blog with the intention to share the things that I already know (and am interested in researching), and I would love to continue to do that. I would love to get more engagement - get people excited about the same things. I try to mix up my content each week between my 4 different categories, but I would love to hear about what people think of the opinions I put out there too.

Have Your Interests Changed In The Last Year?

My love for the classics of Disney has not wavered one bit, if anything they’ve gotten stronger. I do have to say, my movie tastes and music tastes have changed. If you would’ve asked me last year, I would’ve said my favourite Disney movies are Aladdin and Toy Story, and my favourite song is Be Our Guest. I still love all 3 of those things, but now my favourite movie is Mary Poppins (the whole franchise) and I’ve warmed up to the princess movies (Cinderella and Little Mermaid in specific), and my favourite songs are Chim Chim Cheree and Once Upon A Dream.

I hope you all will continue to support me and my blogging journey, I really appreciate those who check in on my website often or even just engage with me on my instagram. Tell your friends, family, and let me know what you want to see from me!
