Characters You Didn't Know Were Voiced by the Same Person
Over the years Disney has accumulated thousands of voice actors and actresses to feature their voices in Disney movies for almost 100 years. A lot of the times our beloved characters are voiced by the same people and we don’t even notice. It’s hard to imagine some Disney universes colliding, but after seeing this list you’ll find the similarities in each character that we tend to miss. Here is a list of Disney characters that were voiced by the same person.
Kathryn Beaumont
Kathryn is a Disney Legend whose voice has lent itself to two iconic female characters. She was the voice of Alice in Alice in Wonderland (1951), and Wendy Darling in Peter Pan (1953). She also appeared in several episodes of “One Hour in Wonderland” with Mr. Walt Disney himself.
Verna Felton
Verna was a young actor as well who performed and toured in the United States and Vancouver. She acted in live theatre, was involved in the radio, did live acting and voice acting. She is most well known for her motherly roles, such as The Fairy Godmother in Cinderella (1950), Queen of Hearts in Alice in Wonderland (1951), Dumbo’s mother in Dumbo (1941), and Flora in Sleeping Beauty (1959).
Ed Wynn
Ed Wynn was an actor, comedian, and radio show host. He also starred on television and tried to stick to comedy as much as he could. The characters he voiced show no less of this, as he played the Mad Hatter in Alice in Wonderland (1951), and was the bubbly, floating, laughing Uncle Albert in Mary Poppins (1964).
Jodi Benson
Jodi is still a very popular Disney actress, as she has appeared in several Disney specials and is proud to be part of the company. She had her start on Broadway and was quickly picked up by Disney not long after, after singing a song called “Disneyland”. She is most well known for playing Ariel in The Little Mermaid (1989) and Barbie in the Toy Story franchise (1999+).
Bill Thompson
Bill Thompson was a comedian, radio show host and actor. He started out in radio and mostly stayed there until World War II in which he fought. But, after the war he came back and Disney offered him some voice roles that have ended up becoming very iconic, comedic sidekicks. Thompson voiced the White Rabbit in Alice in Wonderland (1951) and Mr. Smee in Peter Pan (1953).
Sterling Holloway
Sterling has been with the Disney company as early as Snow White, and Walt seemed to offer him many roles in his earliest films. He started out as Mr. Stork in Dumbo (1941), adult Flower in Bambi (1942), then went on to voice the Cheshire Cat in Alice in Wonderland (1951), Kaa the snake in the Jungle Book (1967) and most well known to be Winnie the Pooh (1977).
Eleanor Audley
Eleanor starred in radio, film, television, and Broadway. She starred in many productions and films through the 1930s to the 1960s. She has gotten to play some of the most sinister and well known Disney villains of all time, which include Lady Tremaine in Cinderella (1950), and Maleficent in Sleeping Beauty (1959). It was said that her appearance was also the inspiration for both characters. She also provided the voice for Madame Leota in the Haunted Mansion in Disneyland.
